PORTABLE SLEEP SCREENING
VentMed SF-A10S: bring overnight breathing data into focus
The VentMed SF-A10S Portable Sleep Apnea Diagnostic Device brings respiratory and oxygenation recording into a compact sleep-screening format. Designed for professional assessment workflows, it helps sleep services collect information for clinical review.
Focused monitoring for sleep assessment
The SF-A10S records airflow, respiratory effort, snoring, body position and movement, alongside SpO₂, pulse rate and the plethysmography waveform. Microphone snoring and CPAP-titration recording are also supported. Its on-device waveform display provides a practical view of the signals being recorded.
This model is a non-EEG sleep-screening recorder. It should be selected for the channels your service requires, rather than treated as a full EEG-based polysomnography system.

Plan a complete testing workflow
For a clinic or sleep-testing service, the purchase decision goes beyond the recorder. Plan who will prepare the equipment, explain sensor placement, check the recording and arrange clinical interpretation. A clear handover process helps patients understand what to do before bedtime and how to return the equipment after the study.
Before a device is issued, use the manufacturer’s instructions to check the supplied components and recording setup. Give the patient the contact details for the team supervising the test, together with instructions for a loose sensor or interrupted recording. Avoid relying on a product photograph as a fitting guide.
After the recording, follow your service’s process for data transfer, patient identification, report review and secure storage. Arrange cleaning and replacement of consumables according to the instructions for each supplied component. Confirm which parts are reusable and which are intended for single-patient use before putting a repeat-use kit into service.
Choose the right assessment for the patient
Home sleep apnea testing can be appropriate for selected patients following clinical assessment. It is not suitable for every sleep complaint or every medical history. The supervising clinician should decide whether a home recording or attended laboratory study is the right investigation.
A recording needs adequate signal quality and professional interpretation. If a home test is negative, inconclusive or technically inadequate, further testing with polysomnography may be needed. Read the AASM diagnostic-testing guideline for clinical guidance.

Frequently asked questions
What is the VentMed SF-A10S used for?
It is a portable recorder for clinician-led sleep screening and assessment of sleep-related breathing. A qualified clinician should interpret the recording alongside the patient’s symptoms and clinical history.
Does the SF-A10S record EEG or provide full PSG sleep staging?
No. The SF-A10S configuration does not include EEG. Choose a system with the required EEG channels if your service needs EEG-based sleep staging.
Does this device treat sleep apnea?
No. It records information for assessment. It does not provide CPAP or BiPAP treatment.
Can a home sleep study be arranged with this device?
A clinician should decide whether home testing is appropriate and specify the required sensors, fitting instructions and reporting workflow. Some patients need an attended laboratory study instead.
Can a negative home test rule out sleep apnea?
A negative, inconclusive or technically inadequate home test may require follow-up polysomnography. Discuss the results and next steps with the supervising clinician.
How should a clinic prepare before purchasing?
Confirm the supplied sensors and consumables, software licence, compatible computer requirements, training arrangements, warranty and replacement-part availability for the quoted package.
