Replace the diffused-venting component with a ResMed AirFit F40 QuietAir vent ring. The ring seats in the front opening of the F40 cushion, where the elbow connects. It is a separate replacement part, so you can order the ring without replacing a serviceable cushion or short tube.

Choose the correct replacement

Confirm that you need the QuietAir version before ordering. This listing is not the standard multi-hole vent ring and is not an elbow from an F20 or F30 mask. If your current connection looks different or you cannot identify the ring, contact our support team with your mask model and a photograph before selecting a replacement.

Fitting and everyday checks

Follow the F40 guide to remove the ring from the cushion, align the replacement ring’s groove with the cushion opening and press it securely into position. Reconnect the elbow as instructed and check the complete assembly. The vent is a functional part of the mask: keep it unobstructed and do not cover, enlarge or modify its openings.

Cleaning and storage

Use the cleaning method for this component in the F40 user guide. The official video below demonstrates disassembly, cleaning and reassembly of the complete F40 mask. Follow the component-specific instructions, rinse thoroughly and allow the part to dry as directed before reconnecting it. Inspect for damage during cleaning, and keep the parts in a clean place between uses.
